The PRAABRE External Advisory Committee (EAC) will consist of distinguished scientists who are experts in the areas of investigation of the thrust areas of PRAABRE. The members of the EAC are :
      • Dr. Roger J. Davis, Ph.D.F.R.S., Investigator of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, H. Arthur Smith Chair in Cancer Research and Professor of Molecular Medicine of UMass Medical School, Worcester, MA
      • Dr. Louis J. Guillette, Jr., Ph.D., Distinguished Alumni Professor, Department of Zoology, University of Florida, Gainesville, FL
      • Dr. Robert Williams, Ph.D., University Distinguished Professor, Department of Chemistry, Colorado State University, Fort Collins, CO
      • Dr. Suzanne Zukin, Ph.D., Professor Department of Neuroscience, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY
      • Dr. Reinhard Laubenbacher, Ph.D. Research Professor, Virginia Bioinformatics Institute, Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA
      • Dr. James R. Brown, Ph.D., Manager, Discovery US Bioinformatics, Bioinformatics Division, R&D GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals, Collegeville, PA

The EAC will

      • evaluate the extent and success of the UPR administrative support for PRAABRE;
      • monitor the progress and productivity of the PRAABRE participants at all institutions (Mentoring, PUI's and Outreach);
      • make recommendations for the future growth and development of the networks;
      • provide a written report within two weeks of each meeting with the Program Director, to the President of the University and to appropriate NIH Program Officers.

The EAC will meet twice a year in Puerto Rico where they will meet with PRAABRE leadership and coordinators, evaluate the progress and quality of the science conducted, and provide the Director with specific recommendations.
