With the Puerto Rico BRIN Project, we committed ourselves to expand the
High Performance Computing facility of the University of Puerto Rico
with the creation of the Bioinformatics Resource Center (BiRC). The
resources provided by the BiRC will continue to be available through
the PR_AABRE Project. Access to the computational and technical
resources is available to all researchers and educators of the AABRE
supported institutions who have interest in developing
biomedically-related projects.
The areas we consider as essential to be developed and supported at the Bioinformatics Resource Center are:
- genomic and proteomic databases
- sequence analysis software
- phylogeny software
- protein structure prediction and visualization
- bioinformatics programming
- microarray data visualization and analysis
- biostatistics
- research support services and training
