Eligibility
Junior faculty will participate each year in summer internship at one of the AABRE Mentoring Institutions. Five (5) junior faculty will be selected to participate.
Benefits
- Participants to spend a minimum of 12 weeks working on a research project at a university in the Island.
- 66% of their summer salary
- $2,000.00 for expendable supplies.
Application Procedures/ Requirements
- Junior investigators (with less than 6-years in a faculty position) will be required to submit a research proposal (5 Page limit) to the BRIN Network to initiate their research activity. The research project will be designed by the Junior investigator with guidance from his/her Mentor.
- Submit curriculum vitae of applicant.
- Justification for selection of the mentor with his/her curriculum vitae.
- Description of the summer research project should include how the project fits into the applicant's and mentor's long term research goals.
- Submit the applicant's professional plan.
Important Notice
After the Internship, the junior faculty participants will provide written reports describing their acheivements and future plans to develop their project. The Interns will also present their results in the Annual Puerto Rico IDeA Symposium.
