Videoconferencing Initiative
The
Videoconference Initiative of the Puerto Rico AABRE project revolves
around the support of two different videoconferencing technologies. The
first is called the Access Grid while the second is the industry
standard H.323.
HPCf Access Node
The HPCf has been operating an Access Grid Node for Internet2 multicast videoconferences. The Access Node is located in our offices in Villa Nevarez.

Furthermore,
if you are interested in deploying an Access Grid Node, then we can
help you with technical issues. A frst approach would be for you to
come and visit us so we can explain how a Node works and what bits and
pieces are necessary. Please be aware that the Access Grid technolgy is an Internet2 only multicast videoconference system
H.323 videoconferencing
H.323
videoconference facilities are currently available in several locations
within the UPR system, including at UPR-RRP, UPR-RUM, UPR-RCM and
UPR-HPCf. If you are interested in participating in an Internet2 H.323

As
part of the AABRE initiative we are also in the process of distributing
Polycom videconferencing units to all institutions within the AABRE
Alliance. This initiative will continue over the five years of the
AABRE grant. Please contact us if you want to discuss specific
